Telling Stories That Matter: Our Journey Through Educational Filmmaking
See how we’ve used film to educate, inspire, and spark change—featuring our early work like The Flask to our latest educational projects.

At Adamant Studios, we believe in the power of storytelling—not just to entertain, but to educate, inspire, and drive change. Since our beginning, we’ve committed ourselves to creating films that go beyond the screen and into the hearts and minds of our audience.

Educational filmmaking isn’t just a genre for us—it’s a mission. From our very first documentary to our internationally recognized projects, our journey has been one of purpose, creativity, and meaningful impact.

🎬 Our Beginning: The Flask

Our journey began with The Flask, a short educational documentary that marked our entry into the international film scene. Directed by Hasanul Huq Jacky, the film was selected in over 20 international film festivals, including the 9th Aljazeera International Film Festival, Bangkok University Short Film Festival, and Mexico International Short Film Festival.

This 2012 film explored scientific curiosity and youth imagination in a way that was accessible, engaging, and deeply resonant with educators and students alike. It proved that storytelling could be a tool for learning, not just entertainment.

🌍 Global Impact: Collaborations Across Borders

In the years that followed, Adamant Studios took on projects that expanded our vision and reach. Between 2013 and 2014, we worked with the Thailand Ministry of Tourism to produce three educational documentaries—Beauty of Thailand, 1000 Baht, and Virtual Love—that aimed to teach cultural appreciation and tourism ethics through visual storytelling.

These films showcased not only the beauty of a country but the value of understanding, respecting, and preserving culture. They were broadcast on educational channels and used in tourism training programs across Asia.

🏆 The Pinnacle: The Story of the Dew

In 2022, our passion for educational film was recognized globally when our documentary The Story of the Dew won the prestigious NHK Japan Prize—an award given to the world’s best educational content.

This film tackled sensitive social issues in Bangladesh through the eyes of children, focusing on resilience, hope, and education as tools for empowerment. It became a powerful resource for educators, NGOs, and policymakers working in child rights and education.

Winning the NHK Japan Prize not only validated our vision—it amplified our voice on the world stage.

🎓 What Makes Our Educational Films Unique?

  • Research-Driven Approach: Every project begins with deep research to ensure accuracy and relevance.

  • Human-Centered Storytelling: We focus on real people, real emotions, and real impact.

  • Multimedia Integration: We blend documentary techniques, animation, narration, and music to enhance learning.

  • Cultural Sensitivity: Our films reflect the voices and values of the communities we portray.

  • Collaboration with Experts: We often work with educators, psychologists, and sociologists to develop content that is both informative and accessible.

📚 Recent & Ongoing Projects

We’ve continued our commitment through several recent and upcoming works:

  • A pre-production feature based on author Selina Hossain’s book, exploring identity, education, and social change in modern Bangladesh.

  • A one-episode educational drama, Prothom Purush, currently streaming on Bongo, blending fiction with educational themes.

  • Ongoing collaborations with educational NGOs and international institutions to produce learning content for schools and digital platforms.

💬 Why Educational Film Matters

In a world full of distractions and misinformation, educational storytelling cuts through the noise. It teaches empathy, challenges stereotypes, and presents complex issues in a way that is visually compelling and emotionally powerful.

At Adamant Studios, we are proud to be part of a global movement using film as a force for good.
